    Monica has been an Austintown resident since 1972 and graduated from Austintown Fitch in 1983. She married her husband, Stacey, in 2020. Monica has three children, April, Mark, Matthew, and six grandchildren, Alexis, Ace, Luke, Owen, Olivia, and Eli. Luke currently attends Austintown schools with Owen, Olivia, and Eli soon to follow. She has owned Austintown Charly’s since 2010 and has worked in the business since its inception in 1986. She is a member of the Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce. Monica is a proud member of Evening Light Apostolic Church. In her free time, she enjoys fishing with her husband, shopping with her mom, or visiting her home away from home in the Outer Banks.

    Bruce Nicholas Shepas is a lifelong resident of Austintown. He married his wife

    Lisa in 2008 and has two daughters, Talia and Alexandria. Bruce has co-owned

    Austintown Bounce Indoor Play Center & Rentals since 2007. He retired from the

    Federal Bureau of Prisons in September of 2023, with a combined 30 years in law

    enforcement, and is the Treasurer of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #193.

    Bruce volunteers on various local committees, enjoys weight lifting and attending

    local and Cleveland sporting events.

    Laurie was appointed as Austintown Township Fiscal Officer in January 2012 to complete the office’s unexpired term ending March 31, 2012. She was then retained to fulfill the next term beginning April 1, 2012.


    Laurie graduated from Youngstown State University in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She majored in Accounting and minored in Finance and Economics. Laurie had previously worked as the township accountant from 1992 – until she resigned in 2005 to raise her family.


    Laurie is a current member of the Finance Committee of St. Joseph’s Church in Austintown. She volunteers at various events throughout the community.

Following the resignation of Trustee Santos, The Board of Austintown Township Trustees is accepting letters of interest for the remaining term. Those interested in serving as a Trustee should submit a letter of interest explaining their qualifications, including business or management experience, community involvement, availability to attend meetings, and future aspirations. Letters of interest should be addressed to: The Board of Austintown Township Trustees 82 Ohltown Road Austintown, OH 44515.


Due to the ongoing storm recovery, in person letters of interest will not be accepted. Letters of interest must be received by mail only on or before July 16, 2026. Those expressing their interest by telephone or e-mail will not be considered. We anticipate that an appointment will be made at the Trustee’s Meeting on August 3, 2026.
