Steve Kent is a lifelong resident of Austintown and was a 1988 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. Steve married his wonderful wife, Alicia, in 1995. Steve and Alicia have three children Kyle, Connor and Krystyna. Connor and Krystyna attend Austintown Township Schools. The Kent Family are active members at Tabernacle Evangelical Church. Steve was a volunteer for youth football, baseball and softball in Austintown. Steve graduated from Youngstown State University Police Academy in 2005 with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice Administration. He currently holds his OPOTA certification and is employed by the Poland Township Police Department, where he is assigned to the Poland School District Student Resource Officer and the Mahoning County OVI Task Force. Steve enjoys the outdoors hunting, fishing and family gatherings.
Monica has been an Austintown resident since 1972 and graduated from Austintown Fitch in 1983. She married her husband, Stacey, in 2020. Monica has three children, April, Mark, Matthew, and six grandchildren, Alexis, Ace, Luke, Owen, Olivia, and Eli. Luke currently attends Austintown schools with Owen, Olivia, and Eli soon to follow. She has owned Austintown Charly’s since 2010 and has worked in the business since its inception in 1986. She is a member of the Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce. Monica is a proud member of Evening Light Apostolic Church. In her free time, she enjoys fishing with her husband, shopping with her mom, or visiting her home away from home in the Outer Banks.
Robert John Santos was born on February 18, 1981 in Salem, Massachusetts. In 2002, Robert received his Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice then enlisted into the United States Marine Corps as a Military Police Officer where he honorably served eleven years. During his service Robert held numerous positions ranging from Patrol Supervision, Watch Commander, Security Chief, and Anti-Terrorism Force Protection Officer. In 2010, Robert was selected to become a Marine Corps Recruiter for the Trumbull and Mahoning County area.
In 2013, Robert was medically retired due to injuries he sustained in the Marine Corps and proudly made Austintown his permanent home where he married his best friend, Kristan Santos. They live with their three sons, Konnor, Timothy, and Logan. Robert volunteers frequently with various local organization throughout the Valley. Robert’s hobbies include, sports, reading, outdoor activities, and volunteering his time within the community. Robert is an Advisor with the Non-Profit Organization USS Oklahoma and is a member of the Austintown American Legion Post 301.
