The Ohio
VINElink system is an information and notification resource that provides
users the ability to search for information about an offender's custody
status and register to automatically receive notification (via phone
or email) when a change in status occurs. Call 1-800-770-0192 or visit
www.VINELink.com
The VINE service is provided
to the citizens of Ohio by the office of the Attorney General, Buckeye
State Sheriff's Association, Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction,
and Ohio Department of Youth Services. Also on this site
are links to other resources for victims of crimes. VINELink includes
data from County jails, Department of Rehabilitation & Corrections and
the Department of Youth Services. County information is updated ever
15 minutes while the rest is updated once per day. Once registered you
will receive status change notifications for transfers, release, escape
and death.
In 1998, Ohio implemented one of the nation's first automated victim
notification systems. In addition to this online tool, Ohio
also offers a free and anonymous telephone service that provides victims
of crime with two important features: information and notification.
Information is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Live
operators are available to assist callers. This toll-free number
is 1-800-770-0192.
Please note: Information on juvenile inmates in the Department
of Youth Services is not available in VINELink. For juvenile information,
please contact the Office of Victim Services with the Department of
Youth Services at 1-800-872-3132.
