Laurie was appointed as Austintown Township Fiscal Officer in January 2012 to complete the office's unexpired term ending March 31, 2012. She was then retained to fulfill the next term beginning April 1, 2012. Laurie graduated from Youngstown State University in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. She majored in Accounting and minored in Finance and Economics. Laurie had previously worked as the township accountant from 1992 - until she resigned in 2005 to raise her family. Laurie is a current member of the Finance Committee of St. Joseph's Church in Austintown. She is also the treasurer of the SJIHM 250 Club of Austintown. She serves as the President of the Twilighters Bowling League at Wedgewood Lanes and volunteers at various events throughout the community.
